GHANA FASHION & DESIGN WEEK 2012 EVENT COMES TO AN END IN STYLE


International media houses, press, buyers and fashion savvy guest witnessed the first ever Ghana Fashion & Design Week® event with BlackBerry® as principal sponsor at the Movenpick Hotel in Accra. After several months of planning, the organisers managed to put together a show that has placed Ghana on the fashion map with the rest of the world. Just like most fashion event technical hitches led to a slight late start on the day one, however, guests were pleased with the line-up of innovative designer collections as models sashay the runway. Bringing a new standard and pushing for excellence, the organizers pulled through a successful event, leaving guest demanding for further information about the 2013 show. As all good things must come to an end, Ghana Fashion & Design Week ended with a stylish V.I.P party sponsored by Moet & Chandon on Sunday the 7th of October 2012. Catwalk designers were offered a second opportunity to present their collections post event at the luxurious Viva Boutique in Accra on the 8th & 9th October 2012 allowing buyers, press and media to have a close viewing of the catwalk collections.The fashion week event brought participants from around the world, alongside designers based in Ghana and from the Diaspora to showcase their collections. A guest attending the event stated that “Honestly it has just been an honour and a pleasure to be down here and I think this is the beginning of greater things to come in fashion for Ghana,” Another onlooker described the show as successful and is optimistic about the future of Fashion Week in Ghana.

The star-studded event was pack with Guest and trendy Ghanaian celebrities such as Jocelyn Dumas, Efya, Deborah Vanessa, songtress lady J and prominent members from the government. Both days were packed with a grooving audience, pumping songs, and rhythmic clapping maintained that this was the hottest contemporary international fashion business event to attend in Ghana. Guest attended an educative seminar about the creative business industry, led by high profile panelists including; Zandile Blay, Nana Ekua Hammond Brew, Vogue Italia editor Bethann Hardison, Dr. Richard Boateng and Omar Dubois.The shows kicked off during the evening alongside the popup exhibition hub, revealing an eclectic mix of designer and exhibitors collections, with display of innovative garments made from hair, unlike anything that has been seen before. Beading, turbans, floor sweeping gowns and vibrant print fabrics blew observers away. Hair and makeup designs were by UK based celebrity artists Claire De Graft and Bianca Scott, who brought their artistic expertise in revamping each model’s look.Each day of the event saw a lucky guest randomly picked to win a BlackBerry® smartphone, which brought smiles and excitement to the crowd when their unique reference number on their ticket was been read out.

Kushonea ‘ weaving’

MITINDO ya nywele huchangia kwa kiasi kikubwa katika urembo wa mwanamke na hutoa tafsiri mbalimbali juu yake.
Kuna aina mbalimbali za mitindo  ya nywele  ambayo mara nyingi imekuwa ikihusisha kusuka ama kunyoa.
Kuna aina mbalimbali za misuko na kila mmoja una mvuto wake mhusika.
Ushoneaji wa ‘weaving’ ni miongoni mwa mitindo ambayo inayojizolea umaarufu siku hadi siku. Tofauti na mitindo mingine ya nywele mtindo huu hutumika kwa madhumuni tofauti tofauti na kuleta maana.
Mtindo huu unaweza kutumiwa ofisini, kwanye sherehe na hata nyumbani. Ingawa kuna utofauti mkubwa baina ya mtindo mmoja na mwingine. Zipo nywele ambazo hupendeza zaidi ikiwa zitatumika katika maeno ya ofisini, ambapo mitindo mingine huwa haileti maana kabisa ikiwa itatumika katika eneo hilo.
Kwa mfano weving lenye rangi zilizo tofauti kabisa na nywele kwa mfano nyekundu, nyeupe n.k, ikiwa aina hii itatumiaka kama ilivyo itamfanya mtumiaji aonekane kama kichekesho.
Lakini ikiwa aina hiyo ya weaving itatumiwa na mtu ambaye anakwenda kwenye kumbi za starehe ataonekana ametoka bomba hasa akiweza kushonea kulingana umbo la uso wake.
Aina ya ‘weaving’
Mbali na aina za rangi na muonekano, wataamu wa nywele za bandia wanasema kuna aina mbili za ‘weaving’ ambazo ni ndefu na fupi.
‘Weaving’ fupi
Mara nyingi weaving fupi ndio hasa upendeza kwa wanaokwenda ofisini kwani, zina huwa haziitaji marekebisho yeyote, mara baada ya kushonewa tofauti na zile ndefu.
Si hivyo tu aina hii ya weaving huwapendeza pia watu wenye umri mkubwa na kuwafanya wavutie na waonekane wenye kwenda na wakati.
 


Sifa kuu ya aina hii ya weaving ni kumfanya mtumiaji awe huru katika kuendelea na shughuli zake.
Kwa mujibu wa wataalamu wa mitindo ya nywele, aina hii ya weaving ndio hasa sahihi kwa watu wenye sura pana.
‘Weaving ndefu’
Weaving ndefu hupendeza zaidi katika mitoko ya jioni ama shughuli zisizo za kiofisi. Wakati mwingine huwa na sifa ya kuchukua muda wa mhusika hasa zinavyopeperuka na upepo na kuja usoni na kumfanya atumie muda mwingi kuziweka sawa.
Sifa kuu ya aina hii ya ‘weaving’ ni kumpa mhusika nafasi yakubadisha mitindo tofauti hasa ikiwa kuna uhitaji wa kufanya hivyo.
Si hivyo tu aina hii ya weaving zinaweza kutumiwa katika kuboresha muonekano wa maharusi.
Aina hii ya mtindo ni mahususi kwa wale wenye nyuso nyembamba.

Kwa kuwa ‘weaving’ hutengenezwa kwa kutumia   ‘nylon’ ambayo ikipakwa mafuta na kupigwa na jua hubabuka, unashauriwa kutotumia pink losheni kwa ajili ya kungarisha na badala yake kutumia spray maalum kwa ajili ya kung’arishia.
Matumizi ya pink losheni husababisha weaving kukakachaa hivyo kupoteza mng’ao wake wa asili.

Stephanie Okereke's Wedding Adorns Canadian Fashion & Style Magazine Cover

 The 'fairy tale' wedding of Stephanie Okereke held in April 2012 in Paris, France has been featured in popular fashion and style Canadian magazine 'Next Big Thing'.

In the Fall 2012 issue of the magazine, Stephanie was described as 'veteran Nigerian actress'. She adorned the front page of the magazine in her wedding gown.

According to the magazine, Stephanie Okereke's wedding to Linus Idahosa was described as the biggest wedding in
2012.

VIPODOZI VIKALI NI HATARI,TUMIA NJIA ZA ASILI

 Badala ya kutumia vipodozi vikali ambavyo wakati mwimgine huweza kusababisha maradhi kama saratani, ni vyema ukatumia vipodozi asilia ambavyo ni rafiki wa ngozi yako.
Hata hivyo aina yoyote ya ngozi ni nzuri hali mradi isiwe na harara, upele au mabaka. Watu weusi na weupe wasipozifanyia ngozi zao matunzo ni lazima ziharibike na zipoteze mvuto.
Katika makala hii, utapata kujua namna ya kuifanya ngozi yako iwe na weupe wa kipekee kwa kutumia  vitu vya asili ambavyo hupatikana jikoni kwako, tena kwa urahisi.

Kata limao nusu. Ile nusu nayo ikate nusu, hivyo utapata robo. Sugua limao katika uso wako na uruhusu juisi yake iingie katika ngozi yako.  Baada ya zoezi hilo acha juisi hiyo ibaki usoni kwa dakika 15. Osha uso wako kwa maji ya moto. Fanya hivyo angalau mara mbili kwa wiki, na utaona mabadiliko.


Siri ya asali na maziwa ya unga
Chukua kikombe, weka maziwa ya unga kijiko kimoja, asali kijiko kimoja na juisi ya limao nusu kijiko. Changanya kasha paka usoni na usugue taratibu. Acha ikae usoni kwa dakika 15 na kasha osha taratibu kwa maji ya vuguvugu. Utayaona matokeo baada ya muda mfupi.
 Siri ya nyanya na unga wa mahindi
Chukua nyanya moja, isage kasha changanya na unga wa mahindi. Jaribu kuufanya mchanganyiko wako mwepesi ili upakike na ukae usoni. Sugua uso wako kwa mchanganyiko huo na uache ukae usoni kwa dakika 20
.
Mchanganyiko wa matunda
Chukua tango, nanasi na papai bichi, visage. Mchangayiko laini utakaopatikana hapo ndiyo  dawa yako. Usugue uso wako taratibu kutoka chini yaani kidevuni kwenda juu. Uache ukae usoni kwa dakika 20 kisha osha kwa maji ya baridi.
